About Us
The House
Casa Almendra is a 4 bedroom house that comfortably sleeps 12 people. There are two bedrooms downstairs with two double beds in each and a private bath. Upstairs is a bedroom with a queen bed and a bedroom with a king bed, private bath and balcony. The living area is open air with a view of the ocean, our lush gardens, and the swimming pool. The house has a full kitchen and comes fully stocked with all the cooking utensils you need. We supply all linens and towels, shampoo and sunscreen and provide you with our exclusive line of natural organic soap.
Casa Almendra is located in the gated community of Marina Chacala, in the town of Chacala, Nayarit Mexico, on the coast known as the Riviera Nayarit. We are 1.5 hours north of Puerto Vallarta on the beautiful pacific coast of Mexico.
Amenities
Casa Almendra is located in the gated community of Marina Chacala, in a small cluster of homes known as Villas Blancas. When you stay in Casa Almendra you have access to the private beach club of Marina Chacala with its pristine beach and multiple swimming pools, volleyball and tennis courts. You also have access to the swimming pool at Villas Blancas and we have our own private path to that pool. The town of Chacala is right outside the gate and there you can enjoy the public beach, small shops and restaurants and the vibrant ambiance of a small Mexican beach village.
Rates
Casa Almendra rents for 9500 pesos or the USD equivalent per night and that price includes daily housekeeping during your stay. Our guests have access to all of the the private beach club facilities at no cost. Our staff can provide home cooked meals, we have a golf cart for rent, and you can book massages, boat trips, tours, fishing trips, snorkeling trips, rent kayaks, paddle boards and other services for an extra charge.
About the area
The Village of Chacala
Chacala is a small fishing village located on a beautiful cove on the pacific coast of Mexico.
Chacala is about a 1.5 hour drive from Puerto Vallarta, 1 hour from Sayulita, 1.5 hours from Tepic, and a 3.5 hour drive from Guadalajara.
The town of Chacala has a population of approximately 300 people. It is a quiet and peaceful village with a fishing pier and beachfront restaurants. There are a few hotels and guest houses in the town of Chacala, and some small grocery and other stores. Local fisherman bring in fresh seafood every day and the surrounding hills are covered in lush tropical jungle and plantations of mango, jackfruit and other fruit trees. During the day the beachfront restaurants are busy with local tourists and are well known for delicious seafood, including the local delicacy of Pescado Zarandeando. At night there are multiple taco stands and restaurants serving delicious Mexican tacos.
The Community of Marina Chacala
Casa Almendra is located in the gated community of Marina Chacala, which at the edge of the village of Chacala. The neighborhood hosts a natural protected area and is filled with old growth trees, birds, and tropical plants. Cobblestone streets take you down to the beach or out the gate into town. Marina Chacala residents and guests have access to the small private beach in Marina Chacala and the beach club and pools, and can also walk out the gate into the town of Chacala and the larger, public beach in town.
Surrounding Areas
Chacala lies in the heart of the coast known as the Riviera Nayarit, which stretches from San Blas to Puerto Vallarta. The Riviera Nayarit is filled with interesting beach towns and tourist attractions that are perfect day trips from Chacala. Nearby La Peñita de Jaltembra has lovely cobblestone streets, quaint shops and restaurants and a wonderful artisans markets on Thursdays. The town of Sayulita is popular with tourists and has many shops and restaurants while the town of Guayabitos is known for its expansive beaches. The indigenous people of the area, the Huicholes, Coras, Tepehuanos and Mexicaneros maintain vibrant communities and traditions in the area and offer visitors the opportunity to learn about their art, history and culture.
